Driving IT Risk, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Strategy at Kinect Consulting – A Startup Under World Fuel Services

Kinect Consulting, a startup supported by World Fuel Services (WFS), needed to rapidly scale its IT risk, cybersecurity, and cloud strategy capabilities. Amy Bittle was brought in to lead a multi-pronged initiative that would not only strengthen compliance and operations but also prepare the company for high-stakes contracts in both government and enterprise sectors.

The Challenge

The company faced misalignment with NIST CSF, costly cloud inefficiencies, inconsistent contract management processes, and limited compliance documentation. Cybersecurity training and internal exception handling were also underdeveloped.

The Approach

Amy developed a role-based learning program aligned with the NICE Framework, reduced AWS costs with Savings Plans and Well-Architected Reviews, and created Salesforce workflows to manage contracts. She established internal controls aligned with NIST 800-53, 800-171, CJIS, and IMO frameworks.
